CNN: 200 drivers camp out for $1 gas
I love the outdoors and camping is one of my favorites. Rest and relaxation doesn't have to be expensive and as far as camping goes, you can make it as cheap as you like.
With these gas prices however, it is fast becoming a hobby that requires digging deeper into our wallet. We often have to drive to a destination, to set up camp. Our car still doesn't run on water, so it takes fuelling up on pricey gas.
Now I would love to have a word with one of those 200 drivers. How did they manage to camp out for just $1 of gas? Did they pack themselves in a bus, poured one dollar worth of gas in the tank, and just headed out as far as the gas would take them? Or did they all have one of those new hybrids, divided the one dollar amount of gas between them, and camped wherever they stopped?
I don't get it, but I have to say it is a miracle as far as I am concerned. Even being as frugal as can be and stretching a dollar, we wouldn't be able to do that.
Correction, we could. We simply put up the tent in our backyard. I have a vague suspicion that's what they did as well.
