MSNBC: Revealed: NASA's $6.8 million spacesuit
That is a lot of money to spend on a suit. I think we can, rightfully so, call the guy wearing this suit the "6 Million Dollar Man".
I can understand they want to keep him close and are trying to ensure he will. Not an easy thing to do, when they are drifting apart. Especially not, when one of them is "out there" and can not be reached that easily. I don't think a 6 million dollar suit will do it. It may strengthen the ties for a little while, but the eventuality they will break up, is still ever present.
And then I read this headline from
THE NEW YORK TIMES: Concerns as Object Floats From Shuttle. Well yeah, who wouldn't be concerned if they bought some guy a 6 million dollar suit, not knowing when he is going to cut loose because he needs space?? I suppose they are counting on the fact that what goes up, must come down.
On the other hand, if they wanted to keep this relationship afloat, why did they tell the man to take a hike to the moon? Sounds like a love-hate relationship to me. I don't quite get it. Okay, maybe I do. One is from Mars and the other one from Venus.
I think it's time for both parties to make a decision and commitment, and come down to earth!
