CNN: Trial: Popular drug fails to help heart disease

I thought the FDA was supposed to watch out for us! We need to be able to rely on their approval. Medications are supposed to cure us, relief pain and to be safe.

No clue, why it took them so long to finally come forward and make this announcement. They knew all along! What were they waiting for? Till the US population was diminished by half? Would have saved a lot of retirement money. Oh dear, I hope that was not part of the financial regulation plan to cut future costs.

I sincerely hope, if you were one of the people who took it, you are doing well. All I can say is, I find the FDA's approval of this drug pretty disheartening and I am grateful the drug failed. This medication was supposed to prevent heart disease, not to help it!

TIME: Financial Regulation Plan Proposed

No telling how long this has been going on and I don't know why they didn't try to come up with a plan, before it was too late. They could have seen it coming while budgeting for the next month. A few cuts here and there might have been helpful. Maybe they were waiting for a windfall.

It is not an easy decision, I am aware of that. I am glad though they came to a solution. Better late than never!

But what's with the fancy words? Financial Regulation? We, the simple folks, call it debt consolidation or bankruptcy.

CBS: Giving Names To Jane, John And Baby Doe

Okay, I admit it! My blond brain my not always remember things. However, some of what they tried to teach me in high school stuck.

I seem to recall that Napoleon was the one who ensure everyone was named. At least that was the case in Europe. I assumed that had caught on, or was spread and came to pass, throughout the entire world. I based that assumption on the fact, that no one I ever met did not have a name!

I suspect a conspiracy here. Rename people and confuse the public. If Hillary Clinton looses the race, just rename her Barack Obama, or whoever might win the election.

Why else would they want to rename Jane, John and baby Doe? That family already got a name!

CBS: Lawyers Conclude McCain Is "Natural Born"

I wonder what instigated this case. McCain must have had some tips and tricks up his sleeve, that called for an investigation. I know, one can't be too careful. Things are not always what they seem. Looks can be deceiving.

Although I don't quite get why they couldn't have simply asked the gynecologist who helped McCain's Mom with the delivery. Might have saved some time and money.

Even if McCain wasn't natural born, making a court case out of it would have gone a bit too far. My babies were born with a C-section. That didn't turn them in to a cyborg, or Inspector Gadget!

ABC News: McCain: I'll Cooperate With Allies

Oh man, I can not tell you how highly offended I am by this statement McCain uttered!

McCain probably has not even considered how many votes this is going to cost him. Why he made that stipulation, I will never understand.

At least we learned that the majority of voters is graciously exempt by Mr. McCain. A good thing to find out before the voting. Still, I can't help it, but I am so hurt by his statement that he is willing to cooperate with Allies. Where does that leave the rest of the voters, including me?
My name isn't Allie!

CNN: Ticker: Exclusive video: Obama hits beach

The weather is nice, the sun is out. After all that hard work and running around, the beach seems to be the perfect place to wind down.

Seems to be! But oh dear, that sand can go everywhere. It mostly goes against your grain. It settles in spots and crevasses to a point where it is getting pretty annoying. Trying to get it out, only makes it worse. Besides, you don't want to do that in public.

Poor Barack Obama, trying to get some rest and relaxation by going to the beach and it's frustration galore instead. I don't think hitting the beach was successful. It won't hurt the beach, but it sure stirs it up. Consequence: more sand in unwanted places!

It must have made for a pretty hilarious video. This might be a good one to send to America's Funniest Home Videos!

TIME: Cheney: Palestinian State 'Overdue'

People like Cheney, who get around a lot, talk to many people. They get to hear and see so much. I guess Cheney is one of those who likes to share a bit of the spotlight with the common folks. Give them their 15 minutes of fame. That is very admirable!

Some of it may not always be of importance and world changing. I can see how this would be breaking news though. It sure changes the world for this Palestinian woman, stating she is overdue. Having a baby is a major change in life.

Well, I am happy for her and her husband. I hope both the pregnancy and delivery will go smooth and Mom and baby will be healthy!

FOX: JPMorgan Boosting Bear Bid?

It must be something special and worth it's money for JPMorgan to want to boost the bidding. I suppose they see a lot of potential in it, even though it made quite a down fall.

I would suspect that fall would have done a lot of damage and decrease the value even more. Who would want to bid on a bear, knowing it fell so hard and might even suffer from permanent disability due to that fall? Actually, who would want to bid on and possess a bear at all?

Maybe the same people who would want to own a panther?! You never know, do you?

CBS: State Dept. Workers Ogle Obama's Passport

Has Obama never heard of gratitude? For the same token, he would never have known what happened to his passport.

We all are required to wear some sort of identification. So is Barack Obama. His passport probably fell out of his pocket at one point and washed down the sewers.

It is a miracle those depth workers saw it floating by. I can only imagine what they encounter every day! In order to be able to return it, they had to look inside to see who it belonged to. They saved Obama a lot of paperwork and time to get a new one. So, what's the big fuss about? Okay, okay, it may not smell that good anymore, but a little perfume does wonders.

At least those depth workers made no secret about finding it and they stated clearly they ogled Obama's passport. They could have simply dumped it.

As long as they didn't throw it in the Vatican's bin. That was already laden!

The New York Times: Vatican Security Worries Over Bin Laden Tape

The Vatican's security must really be bored, or they have way too many tapes. The last may be a result of non strategical and insignificant placement of the cameras. Maybe an obsessive compulsive behavior, or phobia, is at the foundation of it.

On the other hand, people are paid to do their job and it doesn't hurt to check up on them every now and then, to see if they are doing that job as well as they are supposed to. Apparently they aren't and in this case they got caught on tape.

I don't really understand why the Vatican would want us to know this. They have never been to eager to share what is really going on and almost always kept their dirty laundry to themselves. Why all of a sudden tell the world about it?

Either way, security better get over it and reprimand or fire the cleaning lady. Even better, empty the laden bin and quit fussing about it. There are more important things in this world then making a racket about a full waste basket!

MSNBC: Clinton releases first-lady papers

Call it pure curiosity, which it is, but I sure would like to read them.

I am guessing it is geared towards the female population. Although I wouldn't be surprised if there were some topics in there, that would appeal to the males as well. The more readers, the better.

I am glad Hillary Clinton got to release them first. Lady papers, why didn't anyone think of that before?!

So, is it a daily paper, a weekly issue, or maybe monthly? How much is a subscription? I hope it's weekly. A daily lady paper may get boring too quick and most women already have a monthly subscription to The PMS.

Now that is a surprise! In more then one way.
First: they sure have kept it a secret until he got it and second: I bet Obama didn't expect that at all.

I don't see Hillary handling that. Not that I think she couldn't. She has got some pretty sharp claws to counter act, if need be. No, The press was watching her too closely. I suspect Cheney had the Iraqis pick it up on the way to the surprise party. How clever!

I hope we get to see a picture soon. I want to know if it's a black or pink panther.

The New York Times: Bush Supports Fed's Actions, but Critics Quickly Find Fault

I suppose I am one of the critics here. I can understand Bush supporting the fed's actions, if it would only happen once or twice. I have no problem with that. What I can't abide is it happening constantly.

We all like to have food on the table and eat when we need, or even want to. It is one thing to eat until you are full, another to eat all you can eat. That last only results in laying on the couch and taking a nap, because anything else feels like you are about to burst. I know that from experience!

So why would Bush encourage this eating habit? That is basically what Bush does by supporting those couch potatoes.

So yes, I find fault here. Mr. Bush, it may be a good idea for the fed's to cut down on the rate. Their intake is way too high. Skipping a few meals, or reducing the portions, will be much healthier for them and result in more activity!

CNN: Cheney to talk with Iraqi leaders on surprise visit

You can't start early enough. It usually involves a lot of planning and coordinating. I do think it is a very nice gesture on Cheney's part, taking this on.

The most important thing is to keep it a surprise. Hence, the secretive and evasive behavior of all who are participating. The sad thing is, not everyone can keep their mouth shut.

Apparently it leaked out and since it concerns a VIP, the press is all over it. The surprise is gone, answering the other CNN headline with the question from the Obama camp: What's Clinton 'hiding'? Now you know Barack, Hillary is in on planning your surprise party!!!!

A good decoy would be, to send Hillary in to several department stores. Women are notorious for shopping, so it won't create much suspicion. That way Barack Obama will still have a little surprise coming: the present they are going to get him!

CBS: The Science Of Sleep

I just woke up, when I read this.
It's new to me there is a "science" on this human behavior, or rather, necessity. I should have known. There is a science on everything!

It is commonly known that the body automatically reacts to being tired. Gravity gets a hold of the eye lids and pulls them down. As far as I know, the law of gravity has already been discovered a while back.

Take a nap, cut down a forest, catch some Zzz's (although I never caught any. No clue what they look like!), are all expressions for the simple fact that one closes one's eyes and dozes off. That's not too difficult to figure out, is it?!

Could it be, they needed a good justification to sleep on the job? Ooohhh wait, I get it! They are trying to catch the Sandman!!!

CBS: Woman Pried From Toilet After 2 Years

There are days we all can relate to the fact that it doesn't always go as quick as we like. Can happen, no biggy.

In this case though, it must have been a huge biggy! Maybe it was a "race-case", my interpretation of Diarrhea, which could explain why she got stuck to the toilet.

I can't imagine no one missed her. And how did she keep herself alive? Plenty of water to drink, but what did she eat? Whatever it was, it must have tasted like crap.

Could well be, she took the expression to "p*ss off" a bit too literally. Hopefully she wasn't claustrophobic, that would have been a real urinator.

That crowbar must have been painful. She is probably feeling pretty crappy right now. At least she can take a rest in another room for a while.

MSNBC: Obama wins Miss.; Clinton eyes Pa.

While Spitzer was wrestling, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton had their own battle. The race for election seems to have been concluded in favor of Obama. But then again... this is politics, so you never know!

I had no clue the first prize was a Miss! I thought they had their own competitions. Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss USA etc. Maybe it's part of the rules after winning, to be put up as a prize for the elections. At least now we know what Obama and Clinton were hashing it out for. Although I can't see what Hillary would have gained by winning the Miss. Maybe some beauty tips.

Apparently Hillary liked the girl's father better. I don't know what he has got to offer her. I am guessing, since his daughter was in a Miss contest, he is rich. That could explain why she is making eyes at the girl's Pa.

And what are the Obamas going to do with the Miss? Maybe they will keep her. She won't eat much anyway. Most Misses watch their weight diligently. Maybe they will return her. In which case Hillary may end up with a double win!

The N.Y. Times: Spitzer Wrestles Over Response, Paralyzing Albany

Seems like this is getting out of hand now. It is one thing to push Mr. Spitzer in to defending himself, but a whole different ball game to challenge him to fight back.

Of course it is Spitzer's responsibility. He could have put his foot down and refuse. The potential of someone getting hurt was too great. It would have been beneficial if he had made himself familiar with the rules before jumping in the ring. He should have taken that in to consideration.

I am wondering why it had to be a wresting match and why he had to fight Mr. Response. What does he have to do with it? Those wrestlers sure got some akward names. Who would call their son Response? Anyway, that's not my business.

Something else I am confused about... why was Albany there? She should have been gone. Long gone! I suppose she was trying to be supportive and got caught in the middle in the heat of the fight. Spitzer was probably too occupied and oblivious to his surroundings.

And now poor Albany got paralyzed in the wrestling match. I suppose Spitzer did put his foot down, just in the wrong place and on the wrong person.

I bet the man didn't even have a clue she was a prostitute. It is not always obvious what someone does for a living, unless it is clearly displayed somewhere.

This reeks too much like control to me! So, they start at the top and I suspect they will work their way down to the common folks. What happened to our freedom rights?

Maybe Spitzer liked what she had to say and decided to link to her. I do that all the time. I don't know either what the person who's blog I added does for a living. Well, we better beware. Next thing you know, your blog is shut down because you linked to the wrong people!

CBS: McCain Looks Ahead

Looking ahead is a great attitude and it will definitely be a big help. There is not one good reason why McCain should keep looking back. That can and will be way too painful.

Much is said for looking back to learn from your mistakes. But that should only be briefly and preferably done while standing still. Unless someone got eyes in the back of his head. No one has and McCain is no exception.

Makes me wonder why he hadn't turned his head the other way sooner. It will keep him from bumping in to people and running in to all sort of things. It is going to make his life less hurtful, now that he can see where he is going.

Way to go Mr. McCain, I think you made a very wise decision!

Fox: European Gas Sippers - But Not For Sale Here

Gas already is expensive enough. Just smelling the fumes almost puts a dent in your pocket book these days.

I am fully aware that everything is connected. I also know habits, traditions, addictions, trends and fashion, eventually catch on here in the States, and visa versa.

Have you noticed bad things catch on so much faster then good things? Oh come on now... what's the first thing someone remembers when learning a new language? The dirty words and the cursing of course!

And now they want to sell us gas sippers? Just the thought already gets me fuming. No thanks! I don't know what sipping gas results in. I suppose it has the same effect as sniffing glue, or doing dope. That's a bad habit. Expensive too!

As far as I am concerned, Europe can keep the gas sippers. I am already thrilled to still be able to fill up the tank as it is!

That is a substantial amount of money!
I can't help but wonder if it had to be that much and why.

I am totally aware the costs of living are high. Inquiring can help, coming up with cheaper solutions. He could have rented a U-Haul and done it himself. Would have saved a couple of millions.

Maybe I am misreading this. Maybe he hauled all that money to another place. Yeah, that makes more sense.

I wonder where he hauled it to. Maybe a barack? Or is it barrack? Well, you got to keep it somewhere!

Yes, of course I do!

That's the most silly question I have ever heard. Who would't want to get that lump of money for doing something so easy? And it's fun as well!

I do have some questions though.
I suppose I can spend it any way and any where I want, huh? How much time do I have? Can I waste the money already while catching malaria?

But the most important question:
Who is this person, and is he/she armed and dangerous?

The Change

Dear Hillary,

I am so glad you took some of the advice I gave you in one of my previous posts. However, I think you carried it a little too far. When I suggested you wear the pants, I didn't mean for you to take such drastic measures!

Maybe you are going through "the change" and I can imagine it's not easy having your testosterone level going up some. It's uncalled for though, to give into it and make a total swing. Unless you are shooting for a different community of voters.

Hilly/Billy, I honestly can not tell anymore who you are. I agree we all should not set limits to what we can do. It's good to broad your horizon. But stay one! At least till after the elections.

Condoleezza Rice: Trying To Save Mideast Peace Talk

Condy, I sure wish you good luck with that, you are going to need it. I, for one, wouldn't want to be in your shoes. Not that I don't like them, they sure are nice and always go with your outfit. You dress with style. But I digress...

What I meant was, I wouldn't want to have to come up with a location. It's not so much a matter of how you are going to save them, but where? Many of those talks are probably extremely lengthy. People have such a long wind these days, sigh. I guess the longer the wind, the more important they think they are, huh? I sometimes wished they would cut the crap and get to the point!

Anyway girl, you better come up with a sturdy, waterproof and large storage building to keep those talks in. Even if you save them electronically, it can add up.

BTW, they sell the cutest designer disc holders to store them in. You can even arrange them alphabetically! Saves you time when you have to find them. :-)

"I am just getting warmed up"

Hillary, I am so glad to hear this, I can totally sympathise!

It does take a while to warm up and if I may be so bold to offer you several options in case you find yourself in that same position again:

Option 1: Make sure you got someone to cover your back. Being by yourself is the pits!

Option 2: Wear the pants! Be persistant and dont' let anyone else convince you to do otherwise.

Option 3: Pack an extra bag and let someone else hold it. That way you can always change.

Option 4: Get closer to the fire. If you can't find one, make one.

Well, spring is in the air, so you probably will warm up soon and I hope these tips helped. There is no fun in being cold and shivery all the time. No need to either. Cold feet are the worst, so bring an extra pair of wool socks and try to sit close to a heater.

We ought to get you an electric foot warmer!
