MSNBC: Captured on film: Uncontacted Amazon tribe
Life is a journey and that journey starts with the first step. While venturing out, we discover something new almost every day. It is a big world and even with all our sophisticated and high tech gadgets and equipment, we have not been able to uncover all it's mysteries.
Personally, I don't see how that tribe survived that long in seclusion. Their social skills must have increased substantially over the years. Normally, jealousy, control and power struggles, griping, nagging and complaining, would result in a fight to the bitter end.
I am also surprised this tribe has been captured on film. The crew who managed to do so, must have either consisted of only women, or they were able to hide extremely well. In the first case, the women would have been tolerated, purely out of curiosity. The last case, nah, I don't see that happening. The tribe members would have known when someone was invading their territory, they are rather possessive.
It's not odd at all, these Amazons have not been contacted before. They got their own little control and power-game going on. Those women can be rather vicious and don't tolerate men very well. Especially when it is "THAT" time of the month. And with a tribe consisting of only Amazons, you can bet it is always "that" time of the month!

CNN: Tire prices spike, so drivers run bald
Safety is a priority. We can not be stingy and endanger our, or anyone else's life. Both the government as well as businesses are fully aware of that fact. Instead of cooperating with us on this, they just raise the price. I suppose they figure we have to have it anyway. Which is true.
Not only do we have to have it, we are actually forced to buy it. First, because we like to live a little longer and second, we like to avoid a ticket. We don't want to "drive" up the expenses, everything is costly enough as it is.
It took me a while to figure out why the price of tires would go up, but then it dawned on me. Oil! The fabrication of many of our daily used products require oil. We can anticipate those products to become more expensive as well. I guess I better stock up on mascara, while the going is good.
With the costs of gas these days and now in addition the high prices of tires, who wouldn't be pulling their hair out? That would make anyone go bald. Businesses are so big on making profit, I guess they don't care we are about to enter the era of shiny heads.
I suppose the hair transplant clinics, sun screen manufacturers and wax producers, can anticipate good business over the next period of time.
At least it will save us the money for a hairdresser!

NEWS FLASH: Wimbledon at All England Lawn Tennis Club
I can hardly imagine you have never heard of the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament. I would suspect it is a well known event all around the world. In case you are not familiar with it, maybe the name John McEnroe rings a bell? He was one of the most colorful tennis players to attend this prestigious championship.
The tournament is held annually, and this year it will take place from June 23th till July 6th. To attend this great spectacle, you better be quick to get your
Wimbledon tickets. They are sold out fast.

I have never been to this tournament, but watched it a couple of times on television, when a Dutch tennis player would be in the competition. Oops, did I just drop the ball? Anyway, I would like to attend, just because of the exhilarating atmosphere this tournament breaths!
Wimbledon is broadcast throughout Europe and several news and sports channels in the U.S. do as well, since Wimbledon is followed by the U.S. Open.
The best places, of course, are the front rows. Although I don't think those tickets are easy to come by. Many celebrities and even royalty like to witness the "racket" that goes on on the court.

CBS: Kindergartener Voted Out By Students.
The headlines speak for themselves. Take these "Most Viewed" headlines from CBS.
Kindergartener Voted Out By Students.
Hillary Clinton, Please Exit With Dignity.
What's Next For Clinton?
Escape.
In Space, No One Can Hear You Flush.
I was totally unaware of the fact that Hillary Clinton was considered to be a kindergartener. Her fellow students voting her out, has probably to do with the fact that she was getting too old for their class. They may have expected Hillary to make a scene and asked her to leave with dignity.
Well, what is next for Clinton? Nothing much for her to do but escape, I suppose. A place where no one knows her would be hard to find here. Consequently she has no where else to go but in space.
I had no clue no one could hear you flush there. Probably for the best. They won't hear you "pass gas" either then, nor hear someone rant and rave.
It's going to be quiet without Hillary.

CBS: McCain Faces Balancing Act With Bush
Yeah, I am posting a lot on Mr. McCain lately, but I don't make the news. He is working himself in the picture a lot these days. Sometimes that can be good. He is probably thinking: "Out of sight, out of mind."
You can overdo it though and some actions are better not taken.
A few days ago we got all that good news about McCain's health. I do not understand why he wants to jeopardize it now. It takes people years of intensive practice to finally be able to even remotely keep their balance between left and right. Bush has got nothing to loose. He will be gone soon anyway. So I can understand why he is in on it.
McCain better be careful. This balancing act on a tight rope with Bush is not something to take lightly. I do hope they have a safety net up, in case McCain goes down.
I wonder where this circus act is going to take place, or when it will be held. Maybe the question should be: when will this circus act end? Or will it?!

CBS: McCain Proposes Trip To Iraq With Obama
Wow, this totally blew me out of the water, I never saw that coming. It sure emphasizes the fact that you simply can not take anything for granted. It makes me wonder how long McCain has been tossing this idea around.
On second though, we might have seen it coming. McCain and Obama in collaboration on the lobbyists, should already have raised some questions. They seem to be getting along pretty well. Still, the outer appearance indicated the opposite.
I can only assume McCain's cook-out was a huge success and he found his match. So much so, that he decided to propose to Obama. I don't really know how the White House is going to react to this gay marriage, in case Obama accepts. I would however suggest a more romantic destination for the honeymoon then Iraq!

CBS: McCain Grilling For A Running Mate?
It is extremely difficult to know who your friends are. Who can you count on and is reliable enough to stick with you through thick and thin? Usually you find out when it is too late. Sometimes, your friends turn out to be your enemies and they only came along for the ride for their own gain.
Who's loyalty can you count on, when the going gets tough? The tendency is, to put on a different attitude at work, then when being off work. Loyalty, dedication, responsibility, and the willingness to work "for the cause", often start and end with the office hours.
By grilling, you can already make a clear distinction.
- Those who simply refuse: you are better off without them.
- Those who are not sure: loose 'em, they are unreliable.
- Those who commit, but don't show up: forget them, they are only good for lip-service.
- Those who show up: observe them closely, they have potential.
- Those who beg for the grilling: keep them, they love your company and their enthusiasm goes long ways!
I think John McCain made a clever move. There is no better way to get to know your friends outside the office, then with a cook-out. The casual, relaxing atmosphere tends to allow for people to loosen up and show their real selves. Besides, who doesn't like a nice, juicy, grilled steak?

And here we are, the common folks, bending backwards to meet the deadline to have our tax forms filled out and filed on time.
If we don't make it, we are graciously granted a few more months, but after that there is no pardon for being "A day late and a dollar short."
I suppose politicians and their wives are exempt from all this. Cindy McCain releases her tax forms a year later, and guess what? She is "A year late and 6 million dollars richer!"
Doesn't that make you reach your tax?!

MSNBC: Umpires botch another home run call
The guilt and regrets must weigh heavy on the umpires' shoulders. I am quite sure they wished they had paid better attention from the start.
I know that oblivion and ignorance are a bliss, but consequently will result in messing up big time. Accepting the first impression, no matter how reasonable it may seem, can turn out to be a false believe. The best thing to do is to open up the mind, admit and accept and rectify the situation.
So, here is some advice to prevent this from happening again:
- Right of the bat, don't go with the first service provider that comes along.
- Do some research, look at the roaming costs, and read the fine print. The last is usually where the catch is!
- Make sure you have the best coverage, so you can touch base. That way, in case you need to make another run home again, you won't miss the call.
Now that you are dug out, don't find yourselves in another catch 22. Be warned, with these cell phone service providers, anything is fair game these days!

CBS: Is It Time To Tap U.S. Oil Reserves?
Everything evolves around politics and strategies. Even the oil companies are in on it. Now, when the general public is starting to have a problem paying those high gas prices, they are considering pulling the plug. But I guess that is only for the rich and famous. I am starting to understand why oil is called the black gold.
So, it finally leaks out! I don't know how long ago this oil was reserved, but I neither knew I could and should have made reservations, nor was I aware of the fact that besides a water tap, you could have an oil tap in your house as well. Whoever rigged this up definitely kept a tight lid on it.
Maybe for the best. Upon consideration, I am having reservations about the installation of an oil tap in our house. It would only lead to confusion, especially being half awake in the mornings, thinking one would grab a quick shower. That would probably result in a lot of aggravation and a much higher water-bill!

MSNBC: Airlines ponder how far to push customers
I am sorry it had to come this far. I don't think they will have to push for very long. The customers will eventually find alternatives and take off. Maybe now would be a good time to get Icarus' concept out of the closet.
In the meantime, the airlines create an impossible situation for a lot of people. It is almost starting to look like discrimination. Only the true "Die-Hards" might be able to get anywhere. But what about the elderly, children, and others who may be physically challenged? Are they supposed to grow wings all of a sudden?
Well, I guess the airlines can only push their clients as far as their physical condition will allow them to go. Considering the fact, the customers also will have to haul their own luggage, I don't think many will even make it till the end of the runway, before they crash.
I bet the airlines saw that coming. Why else would they have called it the "runway"?

NEWS FLASH: GPS tracking device, no money out of the window!
There are such miniaturized GPS tracking devices, they could easily be build in almost anything, like cars, trucks and wider variety of consumer products. The cellular location-transmitting technologies used in the device, makes it extremely suitable for all kinds of other business-to-business applications.

GPS tracking device from GTX Corp can be used as a protection for all your valuable assets. Build it in, and in case it would get stolen, the GPS tracking device tells you exactly the location of your possessions.
Suppose one of your loved ones goes on a hiking trip, or you are going to an amusement park with your kids. No need to be afraid in case they would get lost. Carrying a GPS would quickly and easily locate them. The device can be live tracked on Google maps and they are small enough to fit in footwear, clothes, backpacks and life preservers.
A GPS tracking device would not only save you money pertaining your business, but would give you peace of mind as well.
I bet the owner of the parrot wished he had invested in this GPS system. He could have equipped the creature with a
GPS Tracking Device. He would have been able to keep a track of his bird, when it took off. That investment would not have been money out of the window!

FOX NEWS: McCain, Obama Trade Attacks Over Lobbyist Ties
The best way to solve a problem is to attack it. Sometimes a problem is a bit too much to be solved by only one person. Since two know more then one, a solution is probably found so much quicker, and because of two different perspectives on it, it is likely to be the best one. Yeah, is likely to be the best one, but not always is.
Putting two politicians together to solve a problem, usually does not work out so well. Too many hurdles, obstacles and differences in opinions have to be overcome. It is a great achievement to be able to reach a compromise.
I admire McCain's and Obama's collaboration and their willingness to put forth the time and the effort to come to an agreement, how to go about and achieve a mutual goal. Although I think the solution they came up with is not the best one.
Instead of trading places and wasting precious time by ambushing and attacking the lobbyist for his ties, they could simply have asked the man where he bought them. They could then have gone to the same store and purchased as many ties as they liked.
I do hope both McCain and Obama will get better at tying the knot!

CNN: Polly want a presidential candidate?
Apparently the parrot mentioned in the previous post had a lot more up it's sleeve then meets the eye. Up it's wing, is more appropriate in this case. Doesn't matter whether that would be the left or the right wing.
First of all, it is confirmed that all parrots are called Polly. Secondly, I am actually starting to believe the bird is a fake. It probably had a foreknowledge of the vet's name and address. It thrived on the enthousiasm of the media, by creating the possibility of having discovered something out of the ordinary, which turned out to be a false expectation.

CNN: Lost parrot gives vet his name, address
This flying critter did something extraordinary, which is beyond logic. Not only that, but it also proves biologists are wrong by claiming animals' brain capacity does not match the human abilities.
It may be true their brains are smaller and the ability to think and reason is either absent, or so much less then ours, they sure are able to sense things in others, like fear for instance.
It is quite exceptional that this parrot possesses a gift, which many would envy. I hope the scientists do not get a hold of it and slice up it's little brain to try and find an explanation for it. Some things just can't be explained.
Even though it is assumed the bird got lost, it may have been on a mission. Maybe it was the veterinarian who got lost and the parrot happened to sense it. Even if it was lost itself, it's psychic ability "saw" the vet's name and address and told him.
The paranormal society would probably have a great interest in this parrot. I would not be surprised if we would see this colored bird on "Ghost Busters" or "Most Haunted".
I hope the owner knows he has got one strange bird on his hands!

TIME: Lebanon Braces for Failure of Talks
You can not always leave it the way it is. Things need to be straightened out before anything good can come out of it and it no longer is a thorn in the eye of others.
Under these specific circumstances, words may not always come across clearly. It is our own responsibility to make sure we understood what was being said. We may not always like to ask for clarification. Mainly because we either are too proud to admit we didn't comprehend, or do not want to embarrass the person in question. Let's keep in mind, it's only temporary. Patience goes a long ways and the only stupid question is the one that is not asked!
It is not in our hands to determine the way our genes decide how our teeth grow. We have the means to set them straight. Braces are no longer something to be ashamed of. When they prohibit speaking though, we ought to adjust, or replace them.
I just don't understand why we have to go all the way to Lebanon to get our braces. They can't be that good if they are the culprit of failure to talk. I guess the Lebanese took the expression "Silence is golden" a bit too literally.

NEWS FLASH: Candidates stateless?
The election race is on everyone's mind and if not, we will be reminded of it on a daily basis by the media. Not a day goes by without the candidates being highlighted in the news.
A huge amount of discussions are going on. Amongst the candidates as well as everyone else. Trying to win the people's votes is top priority. What if there would be a
Stateless Society? Just imagine, McCain, Clinton and Obama would be totally out of the picture. Rather, out of a job as well, along with many other politicians, lobbyists etc.
I can not picture having an alternative government, no government, and an alternative currency. Maybe you can, and if this is an appealing idea and you would like to get a better impression of how and what, like to interact with others, then visiting this site is an absolute must.
There are ongoing discussions in which you can participate, maybe launch some new ideas as well. Visions, forums, events and reports can all be found here.

ABC NEWS: Plus-Size Models Turning Heads
Finally! I have been wondering for a while now, when this change would take place. And I can imagine it has not been easy. It's all a matter of admittance and acceptance.
Look at all those models today. They are so tall and so slim, they almost look anorectic. It is understandable that any woman, who does not meet those criteria, becomes extremely self-conscious and almost ashamed of her weight. Yes, ashamed. Simply because her ribs are not clearly defined under her skin and her arms and legs do not resemble twigs. Therefore she does not meet the requirements of today's social standards of having "the perfect body".
Buying clothes has been a traumatic experience for many of the chunky women. It is no fun to try and squirm yourself in a size too small, because you can't accept and admit you are not a bag of bones.
I am so glad all of the plus-sized models have decided to turn their heads away from those non-fitting small sizes. When those don't sell anymore, the fashion industry can no longer ignore the fact their designs need to meet the women's qualifications and not the other way around.
"High Five", my chunky sisters! Doesn't it feel good to finally come out of the closet?!

The release of a new Indiana Jones movie, after so many years, is extremely exciting and I am, along with so many others, looking forward to watching it. Patience is a virtue though, and I am not willing to give my kingdom to have it all revealed before it hits the theaters or the shelves of the movie rental places.
I have been breaking my skull to figure out why this secrecy is such a big deal to everyone. So far, all the Indiana Jones movies have been a treat to watch. I consider them to be highly entertaining and they have kept me on the edge of my chair. I expect the same from this one.
I can not think of anyone who does not like to get a present. The thrill begins with tearing off the gift paper it comes in. The anticipation grows as the package becomes more and more visible. Seeing the box and gaining a knowledge of what is inside, only enhances the excitement.
All of this would not be present if the farm had already been given away. Why be so eager? Let's enjoy unwrapping it. Each piece of shroud that comes off brings us closer to being able to see it. Besides, the DVD being wrapped up, makes it so much easier to find in the rental stores.
BTW, I would suggest you preserve the shroud. It may become a collector's item over the years!

Time: Bin Laden: Palestine Cause Fuels War
So, now Osama Bin Lade is pointing fingers at Palestine. What an irresponsible attitude. Sure, no one likes to take the blame for the consequences of their actions and it is always easier to fault someone else.
Sooner or later, the truth will come out. It always does. Add to it, people will eventually catch on. We are not born yesterday, where it concerns Bin Laden. He has already been proven to be untrustworthy, to say in the least. This is going to backfire on him, and rightfully so. He may have fooled us a couple of times, but he can't keep dodging the bullet!
All his terroristic action require precious fuel. If he wouldn't have been wasting it, there would not be a feud over it. I think it is extremely low, to blame Palestine for causing this war of fuels. We know better now, as to who is responsible for all those rising gas prices we are confronted with each day.
Maybe if we terrorize Osama for a while, the competition between fuels will end and the price of gas might drop. We are already bin laden enough as it is.

CNN: 200 drivers camp out for $1 gas
I love the outdoors and camping is one of my favorites. Rest and relaxation doesn't have to be expensive and as far as camping goes, you can make it as cheap as you like.
With these gas prices however, it is fast becoming a hobby that requires digging deeper into our wallet. We often have to drive to a destination, to set up camp. Our car still doesn't run on water, so it takes fuelling up on pricey gas.
Now I would love to have a word with one of those 200 drivers. How did they manage to camp out for just $1 of gas? Did they pack themselves in a bus, poured one dollar worth of gas in the tank, and just headed out as far as the gas would take them? Or did they all have one of those new hybrids, divided the one dollar amount of gas between them, and camped wherever they stopped?
I don't get it, but I have to say it is a miracle as far as I am concerned. Even being as frugal as can be and stretching a dollar, we wouldn't be able to do that.
Correction, we could. We simply put up the tent in our backyard. I have a vague suspicion that's what they did as well.

CBS: Little Gain In Big Win For Clinton
Hillary Clinton should better be careful. This can not continue. It would be wise if she would stop it right here and now, before it grows out of proportions.
When it does, it is so much harder to deal with the consequences and I don't think she will have neither the capability, nor the time to devote to lifting some of the burden this gain brought on.
I am aware this election race is taking it out on the candidates, but it is their responsibility to watch what is being taken in. Stress can manifest itself in all kinds of ways and everyone deals differently with it. It has got to be let off somehow. It can be done in a healthier way though, then converting it to a mass that you constantly have to drag around.
If Hillary can not control herself and keeps on this habit of nervous eating, she will continue to gain. Even though it is a little gain at the time, it will eventually result in a lot all together. Every pound goes through the mouth!
Better stop now Hillary, before your clothes don't fit anymore and if you need help, consider wearing this around your neck or on your back:

FOX NEWS: McCain: Let's Get Green Without Losing the Greenbacks
I would like cooperate with McCain on going green. Although I don't understand how to do it without spending any money. Sure, I would love to have solar panels on my roof, windmills in my yard and a gas efficient new car. All that requires spending money and the $10 I buried 2 years ago are not rooting.
Alright, maybe he meant green clothing. Ehh.... I don't have anything fashionable green to wear, so that means either a shopping spree, or a can of green spray paint, which means... spending money.
No matter what I come up with, it all equates to having to spend some of my hard earned greenbacks. I don't see a way around it. That's making me sick to my stomach.

CBS: The Revolving Door: Lawmaker To Lobbyist
It is always beneficial to broaden your horizon and think outside the box. The path of life consists of constant learning and discovering. The expression: "You are never too old to learn", didn't come out of the blue. That was pure experience talking.
It only takes a few steps from lawmaker to lobbyist. Gaining understanding by experiencing other people's situation, can only result in being a better person. Whether a lawmaker likes to admit it or not, he is a person as well.
When you are outside a large building and come in, be that through a revolving or any other door, you come into the hall. A more sophisticated word for hall is lobby. So... as soon as they enter, they are a lobbyist, just like you and me when we would come into a lobby.

CBS: Homeowner Rescue Plan Passed By House
The overall costs of living are about to get a lot of people in a terrible situation. Gas prices are already rising to an all time high, with no end in sight. Many homeowners are in a bind and don't see a way out. The economy is about to grab us by the throat.
It would seem like the government is aware of that and is making plans to help out. There are so many regulations, stipulations and rules however, for a plan to get approval and I am astonished and applaud the fact that is has been done ahead of time. That's new, usually they are kind of too late.
I just don't get this homeowners rescue plan. Intentions can be good, but they need to be converted in actions. I can make a plan to give you a million dollars. But does it help if I just wave it in front of your face? I didn't think so either.
They claim the plan is to help the owners who are in dire straits. But what good does it do, if they just pass by your house? Don't they even have the curtesy to stop? Okay, okay, that last is a blond question. They probably anticipate to instigate a violant situation. Quite understandable as well, looking at it from both standpoints.
I suspect it is just another carrot to dangle in front of our nose, to keep us from complaining!

NEWSWEEK: Obama weathers the storm
I can totally picture Barack Obama doing that. Somehow he has got the disposition for it. I am guessing it comes naturally, you either got it, or you don't.
We all can look at the horizon, stick a wet finger in the air, and tell where the wind blows. That is how it used to be done. These days, advanced technology analyzes in depth what may happen. Even though it all is still mainly based on presumptions, assumptions and predictions, it is more accurate.
Like I mentioned before, it mostly comes down to a gut-feeling. You never can be a 100% sure whether your parade is being rained on, or you are about to get blistered by the heat.
Being a weather-man is one of the most ungrateful jobs to have. It is not easy to stand in front of a blue screen and give an accurate forecast. I suppose Obama had detailed instructions (although even a caveman can weather a storm after it has occurred!). But..., Obama can always apply for a position as a weather-man in case he looses the elections. He is a natural.
I wonder if Barack Obama told Hillary Clinton to dress warm upon visiting Indiana for her election race. She must have been freezing, getting the voters' cold shoulder.

They sure aren't letting up. Obama and Clinton keep on hacking away at each other until one can finally claim victory. They constantly find new ways to keep us on the edge of our seats.
I bet there is a whole lot going on behind the scenes. It would be nice to get an insight of the complete entourage, including emotional state and mental confusion. Things that kept them occupied throughout the entire election, you know. Throw in some personal issues and it might be extremely entertaining.
I don't think our battling senators need acting classes. They seem to be doing fine and since they will be playing themselves, I foresee a few Oscars coming their way. The producers who will take on making these movies might have a box office success right at their fingertips.
I can't wait to see the new Star Wars Trilogy. I believe I already know what their titles will be:
Star Wars Episode I: The McCain Menace.
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clinton.
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Obama.
Maybe we ought to watch Star Wars Episode IV again as well. It's called "A New Hope". I will bring the popcorn.

MSNBC: Yahoo CEO may face rebellion
Step outside the rut and established routine and people are shocked. I have seen it happen. Present something totally out of the structured environment and, no matter how brilliant the idea, solution, or proposal is, mental abilities are questioned.
Consider all the inventors throughout history. Their ideas were thought of as ludicrous. Most of them were either shunned, or attacked. They were labeled as rebellions, just because the minds of the others were closed to something they couldn't comprehend.
I have compassion for this CEO, who's innovative ideas fell outside the realm of the established norms. Instead of welcoming and embracing a different and new approach, his behavior is considered rebellious and condemned. He even has to face it and answer for it.
Makes me wonder who the yahoos are here!

THE NEW YORK TIMES: Indiana Poses a Puzzle in the Primary Race
I suspect everybody is being a little put out with all those debates. All the questions may already have been asked and the answers are mainly focused on outwitting the opponent and appealing to the voter's preferences and requirements. It probably is at the point where it only goes round and round in circles. Nothing new, just same old, same old.
To really see what strategy the candidates are able to come up with, how resourceful they are, and how they perform under pressure, would require a challenge outside the normal routine. Indiana may have found the solution. It is definitely thinking outside the box.
What kind of puzzle would they have in mind? How many puzzle-pieces would it consist of and how much time are they considering to give the candidates, to complete the puzzle? I do hope they check the puzzles, to
ensure they are complete.
Okay, okay, it is not thinking outside the box, since a puzzle comes in one.
